Upright London Erard Art Case serial number 7441 - Year 1861
A Magnificent Upright Pianoforte insides made by Pierre Erard of London case made by Collmann and sons. Records show that Collmann displayed this piano in the Great Exhibition of 1862 in London.
Case is made of Burled sculpted Walnut with case having Greek sculptures of mythical scenes.
Orpheus, and Arion are sculpted onto both sides of piano with dolphins and reeds. These scenes were popular with Pierre Erard as he had the same sculptures and scenes of the front of the London Erard 18 Great Marlborough Street Shop entrance in the same style.
