Case made of Amaranth wood, a beautiful wood found in South America that is also called Purple Heart wood because the center is always purple. The outer case is highly adorned with bronzes using copper and brass in a Louise XVI style.
The frame of this piano and base of the case is made out of solid Oak, making the weight of this piano more that of a grand piano. This is what Pleyel called his 'Grand Patron' model for upright piano of this time.
