These early pianos are rare and hard to come by. The Mahogany case is further highlighted by boxwood and eboiny trims. Bronze on legs. Pedal system missing but Mechanics are still inside and can be remade.

Piano was played and signed on the soundboard by the famous composer and pianist,
Jean Paul Egide Martini.



Jean Paul Egide Martini was born August 31st 1741 and died February 10, 1816. He is best known today for his vocal romance "Plaisir d'Amour" on which the 1961 Elvis Presley famous standard "cant help falling in love" was based. He was a great composer of of classical music. He held a huge career as a court musician having directed concerts for the Queen Marie Antoinette which he adapted to the changing regimes throughout the French revolutions. He later wrote music for Napoleons marriage as well as for the restored Royal Chapel. in 1800 he became professor of composition at the Paris Conservatoire.
