Pleyel Upright piano serial number 13269 made in the year 1847. ![]() Case is in the Style Boulle, named after Charles Andre Boulle a French cabinetmaker who is generally considered to be the preeminent artist in the field of marquetry, even "the most remarkable of all French cabinetmakers of King Louis XIV period." His fame in marquetry led to his name being given to the fashion he perfected of inlaying brass and tortoise-shell, known as boulle (or, in 19th-century Britain, Buhl work)... Erard Upright Piano serial number 13602 - Year 1835 ![]() Upright piano made by Sebastien Erard Paris. Case made of Mahogany having 6 octaves F to F. Archives show this piano was originally purchased by a piano retailor in Rouen France to Mr Carlin, October 9th 1835. Mr Carlin was a well known musical instrument dealer in Rouen as he is also shown in the archives of Ignace Pleyel of Paris from the same period...
